Greedy Goddess Game Pitch

There was a class assignment to come up with characters for a game pitch. My concept was based on the idea of resource acquisition where the players gather offerings for their team "Goddess" while fighting each other for access to nodes. Food items are fed to their team NPC, or eaten by the player to upgrade their avatar, while treasure items are stored at the team base - to incentivize players to raid one another's keep. If certain requirements are met the goddess NPCs would become combatants and attack enemy goddesses or players, in that order of importance.

Each goddess was based off a land biome with an advisor character to match them.

Their gemstones and decorations were meant to emphasize the land biomes that they were represented by.

Each Goddess was inspired by a historical deity and the details of their character designs are meant to reflect that. The creatures are the similar species and the "goddess" NPCs are modeled after the paleolithic fertility totems.

As part of my game concept, each player would start out as a "Pip" capable of carrying a single item at a time. If they wanted to, they could eat offerings instead of taking them to the Goddess to eventually become a "Pug"

I did some explorations of what a raging Goddess would look like if players succeeded in activating their rampage mode.

I was inspired by hamsters as a base for these creatures because they like to hoard food and "treasures". Using the rodent as a base, I pushed the designs by bringing in elements that would harken back to the specific Goddesses they were inspired by.
